Seize the Grey had his final work at Highlander Training Center on Friday morning, breezing his second half mile in :49.64 under his regular exercise rider, Saul De La Rosa. Highlander reported he accomplished this easily yet again and is ready to return to the race track.
As many of you may know, the Hot Springs, Arkansas area has been dealing with severe weather over the last few weeks. The 10-day forecast has temperatures rising towards the end of next week which will be a blessing to the horses and horseman/horsewomen at Oaklawn. However, additional rain is expected from Monday - Wednesday and as a result, in agreement with the Highlander team, we have requested he remains at Highlander until that storm passes.
The plan will be to get him back to D. Wayne Lukas towards the end of next week where he will continue to progress in his training.
