Black Tie Optional (originally tagged: Stylishly 23), a son of Not This Time out of the Speightstown mare, Stylishly, was a large, strapping chestnut colt when he was initially offered. We purchased into the partnership based on his physical, Not This Time's stellar record as a sire, including recent sensation, Next. The partnership officially named him in late December 2024.

Other information:
December 2024: Currently in early training at Wavertree in Ocala, Florida where he has advanced from first being saddled, to working in a round pen, to exercising in a large grassy paddock, to galloping on Wavertree's dirt track in the first few months of training. Training well and appears easy going and enjoying the work. He'll get a break over the Christmas holiday and then begin training toward speed works this spring. He'll be released to trainer Bob Baffert once he has excelled to the point Ciaran Dunne feels he's ready for the track environmental. When that happens will depend on how he grows and advances in the coming months.
