Sire: Candy Ride (by Ride the Rails x Candy Girl)
A champion miler in his native Argentina with two
Grade 1 wins, Candy Ride went on to win the
Grade 1 Pacific Classic on dirt and the Grade 1
American Handicap on turf in the USA.
But he is best known as an outstanding sire,
having produced remarkable talent probably
best highlighted by Gun Runner, who earned
just shy of $16 million on the track, and was
named Champion Older Male and Horse of the
Year. Candy Ride has produced such talent as
Shared Belief, Game Winner, Twirling Candy,
Candy Boy, Clubhouse Ride, and Sidney's Candy,
not to mention Gun Runner, who, at stud, has
already produced top notch runners in 2022
such as Echo Zulu, Cyberknife, Taiba, Gunnite,
Society and Early Voting. Some of these top
runners are the result of crosses on Storm Cat
lines, which makes this colt even more exciting
as a potential stud.
Dam: Elarose (Storm Cat x Take Charge Lady!)
Elarose has produced four foals to race, all winners!
Her sire is the immortal champion sire Storm Cat
(grandson of Secretariat), but her dam is also
spectacular (see below).
2nd Dam: Take Charge Lady (by Dehere)
Take Charge Lady was a multiple Grade 1
winner with earnings of $2.4 million in her career.
As a broodmare, she's been a complete standout,
producing both Will Take Charge and Take
Charge Indy, both millionaire race horses and
half-siblings to Elarose.
Another half-sibling by Take Charge Lady,
As Time Goes By, won a Grade 1 stakes in
2022. A fourth half-sibling, Charming (by
Seeking the Gold) produced Champion and
Breeders Cup winner Take Charge Brandi
and Grade 1 winner Omaha Beach.
3rd Dam: Felicita (Rubiano x Grand Bonheur-Blushing Groom)
Felicita did not race and is best known as
the dam of Take Charge Indy. Her pedigree is
packed with punch, being a daughter of Rubiano,
a millionaire Eclipse champion sprinter sired by
Fappiano, an outstanding son of Mr. Prospector.
Felicita was out of Blushing Groom mare
Grand Bonheur. Blushing Groom was the
2YO Champion French colt, 3YO French
and English Champion, and European Champion
Miler who is seen in many pedigrees of
outstanding performers today.

We understand that after MRH secured the winning bid
of $300,000 on this promising colt, Duncan Taylor of
Taylor Made (consigner) ran over to congratulate the
MRH team on what he thought was the steal of the day
and remarked “I’ll be in line to buy my shares of this
horse!”
The MRH team was equally excited to land this prospect
who could be primed to follow in the footsteps of some of
his immediate family members. This colt also came with
his registered name.
Secret Crush is buddies with Sarrocchi '21 (Legitify) dating
back to when both colts were raised at Silver Springs Farm
in Kentucky. When they were at Wavertree they often shared
