Lane Way breezed five furlongs in :59.80 while on the outside of Greer My Dear this morning at Santa Anita ($250,000 Medaglia d’Oro filly). Breaking about two lengths off of his workmate, our veteran traveled nicely and finished up very well, easily taking the upper hand at the wire.
The Mandella barn couldn’t be happier with our son of Into Mischief as we remain on target for the G3 San Simeon on Mar. 9th at Santa Anita.

We were sent a private video of the work (which, sadly, we are unable to share here) and Lane Way looked very dominant and in command, starting behind the nice Medaglia d'Oro filly and easily passing her as the wire approached, taking long, athletic strides. We were delighted by his performance and very excited that he's heading for his next Grade 3 test in early March.
We have high hopes that Lane Way can make another run at the Breeders Cup again this year. Now that he's a 7YO, this could be his last hurrah, though we suspect based on his works and the excellent management by Richard Mandella, that he is going to continue to improve for at least the next calendar year. :)
