Fireball Birdie ("Firebird") performed his first work after arriving at Oaklawn from Sam Houston earlier this week. We believe this was a leisurely "get acquainted with the track" work, but he still performed 5F in a respectable time. Expect a debut soon. We'll post a work update if/when we receive one.

Fireball Birdie officially transitioned to Oaklawn Park a few days ago and was able to pick up right where he left off in his training. This morning, your son of Uncle Mo breezed five furlongs on the outside of stablemate Ride for Sul with jockey Keith Asmussen aboard and was credited with a final time of 1:02.60.
We were provided a video of his work and he looked good, finishing a nose ahead of his workmate.
