Fireball Birdie worked his second five-eighths from the gate on Sunday morning in 1:00.82 at Sam Houston Race Park. Our 3-year-old colt worked in company with stablemate and 2x winner Black Powder. With two nice stamina drills put into him and a total of five works (four official) since returning to the track, you son of Uncle Mo shouldn’t be too far from a debut. We’ll chat with trainer Steve Asmussen this week to get a better idea of what that timing will look like.
