Seize The Grey Says Farewell to Derby Bid

A decision was made this morning not to enter Seize The Grey in the 150th Kentucky Derby, instead opting for a different stakes on the Derby undercard. Our notice is posted below:

With no changes in the Kentucky Derby field as of mid-morning, trainer D. Wayne Lukas feels it is unlikely we have a realistic chance of drawing into the field. Both Endlessly and Encino are staying the course and all others appeared to ship in that were off the grounds. 

Of course, it is disappointing as he was so close to being in Derby 150.

With that said, we will proceed with entering STG in the Pat Day Mile, the $600,000 G2 event is an undercard stakes race on Kentucky Derby day. This will be no easy event either, but Mr. Lukas feels we have a horse that is ready to run. We will follow up once entries are official.
