Seize The Grey Grabs Graded Stakes Win in Pat Day Mile
D. Wayne Lukas will Bring Seize The Grey, Just Steel to Preakness Stakes
We're looking at a very loaded field.
- Just Steel is most likely in.
- Two Baffert monsters -- Muth and Imagination -- are probables.
- Kentucky Derby winner Mystik Dan a possible, but hasn't run back well on a two week rest previously so it will depend on how he trains. He's still at Churchill and may go directly to Saratoga (where the Belmont will be run this year).
- Uncle Heavy, Tuscan Gold, Informed Patriot, Copper Tax all possibles.
We'll report back as the actual field shapes up.
UPDATE
According to US Racing there's a big list of Derby horses that are reportedly going to pass on the Preakness, including Fierceness, Sierra Leone, Forever Young, Catching Freedom, Resilience, Dornoch, Stronghold, Honor Marie, Track Phantom, Endlessly, West Saratoga, Domestic Product, Epic Ride, Society Man, Grand Mo the First, Catalytic and TO Password. Just Steel was also mentioned, but that contradicts earlier information we received, so I'm sure we'll be hearing from the Coach on whether or not he'll be pointed that way. Seize The Grey is going to Pimlico but it's still dependent on how he trains and takes to the surface if he'll be entered. The two Baffert horses look to be in it -- Muth and Imagination.
