Lady Blitz exited her race on August 13th in good order and was shipped back to Monmouth Park where she will resume her training. As expected, the daughter of Audible earned a 36 Beyer Speed Figure for her first start on the turf.
We will see how our 2-year-old trains in the coming weeks and build up a plan moving forward, but at this time trainer Todd Pletcher is looking to get her back on the dirt for her next start.
Our commentary:
Lady Blitz was sent "back to the minors." She shipped to Todd Pletcher's barn at Monmouth Park from Saratoga. No specifics were given, but we're guessing they want to give her an opportunity to win against slightly softer competition than she's been facing at Saratoga. She also is expected to return to racing on dirt.
Lady Blitz has so far tallied one 3rd in three starts and that was on opening day at Saratoga. In her defense, her first race at Monmouth Park was a mudbath and her 3rd was on turf, which she obviously didn't care for. This may be a good move for her.
