A Day to Remember had his first five-furlong breeze in 1:00.80 this morning at Santa Anita.
By intention, trainer Mark Glatt wanted your colt to have a target and broke a few lengths behind stablemate Sharpazano. A Day to Remember made up ground on his stablemate easily and the duo came head-to-head in the stretch in what was considered a strong work.
Trainer Mark Glatt talked to exercise rider Jonathan Hernandez when the son of American Pharoah cooled down afterward and commented “Beautiful, right? He doesn't look tired at all!” and his rider agreed.
Mark feels your 2-year-old is ready and a final race target will be chosen after his breeze next week. As mentioned in our update last week, the main options are July 23rd or July 29th on the dirt, or August 3rd on the turf.
