Fireball Birdie received a little bit of a break following his last race due to the frozen track and frigid conditions much of the South has experienced these past two weeks. Your son of Uncle Mo returned to training yesterday, jogging over the track at Oaklawn’s Ten Mile Creek Training Center.
Though trainer Steve Asmussen has yet to set a concrete target race, the $35,000 non-winners-of-three condition has been written in Oaklawn’s new book for Feb. 14 and Mar. 8, so we expect his next start to come in either of those two spots depending on when the barn feels he is ready to go again.
