Legitify Debuts Tomorrow!

Legitify paddock schooled this morning in preparation for his debut tomorrow. The 3YO son of Justify has been ultra-consistent is his recent workouts and has caught the eye of the local clockers, most recently receiving an “A-” grade by the Handicappers Report for his final breeze of :47.40. (A and A- grades are seldom given out.)

Legitify will be in R#3, P#2, Kazushi Kamura up, post time about 3PM MT. Racing Manager Joe Moran gave a very favorable pre-race review via video today. (Screenshot below.) Best of luck to Legitify on his Thursday debut at Santa Anita!

Seize The Grey - Road to the Derby Update

Well, it's happened! Seize The Grey will have his shot.

He's been entered in the Toyota Blue Grass at Keeneland and has drawn Post 3. He'll be starting right next to one of the big Derby favorites, Dornoch (full brother to Mage, who won the Derby last year) in Post 4. This isn't an ideal gate for him, and it's a tough field and a big ask.

Just praying for a safe and productive trip.

We'll know in a few days if Seize The Grey makes it into the 150TH KENTUCKY DERBY!

Fireball Birdie Update

Fireball Birdie had his final prep this morning at Oaklawn Park, covering an easy 3F in :38.60!

Trainer Steve Asmussen didn’t want to do too much ahead of his career debut on Saturday and is pleased with how well he is training leading up to his debut. Our son of Uncle Mo did everything easily, and his rider's hands didn't move as "Firebird" galloped out with good energy.

Adaay In Asia Work Before Stakes on Thursday

Adaay in Asia had her final breeze on Easter Sunday in preparation for Thursday’s G3 Wilshire S. Our daughter of Adaay was credited with a half mile in :46.80 with Geovanni Franco in the irons. This was a much-improved breeze working over the recently opened Tapeta training track which is known to replicate turf more than dirt. She was always traveling better than her mate Poppy’s Joy and continued out past the wire strongly.

All systems are a go for Thursday. Adaay in Asia is 12/1 on the morning line and we will follow up with our race overview before the race.

Catalyst Update

Catalyst returned to Oaklawn Park yesterday afternoon (March 31st) from the Ten Mile Creek Training Center and we were sent a video of her galloping.

The Asmussen team lightened up in her daily training initially out of her last race to get some muscle and weight back on her. She had plenty of enthusiasm on the track and looks well.

Looking ahead at the new and final condition book at Oaklawn, there is a maiden special weight going one mile and one-sixteenth on April 20th which will most likely be our target for the daughter of Gun Runner.
