Good News from Ocala re: Hurricane Ian

Wavertree’s Ciaran Dunne informed the partnership that the worst of the stormy weather from Hurricane Ian passed below the Ocala, Fla. farm and apart from strong winds and rain, the property was relatively unscathed by its affects. 

Both of our ‘21 yearlings had an uneventful night and, hopefully, Ciaran said Wavertree can resume normal operations tomorrow.

Whew! 

Our prayers go out to other parts of Florida that took the brunt of this huge and destructive storm. 

Disdainful: Yarmouth Result

We're very pleased with Disdainful's race at Yarmouth in the UK this morning. He was just nipped for 2nd at the wire, finishing a game 3rd. 

Considering he was weighted at 10-15 pounds more than most of the field, and the that turf was extremely soft from an overnight rain, we think he made a gallant run, but just didn't have the closing kick he showed in his first race, probably due to being a bit tired from the added weight. 

Still, it was a good race and we think he ran like a champ. He held good position forwardly placed and was in the lead approaching the wire until passed by the eventual winner and just nosed out of 2nd place at the finish!

He appears to have come out of it in good shape, from what little they showed on TVG. We'll give you a further update when we get the summary from Eclipse. 

His next race should be in the USA!
